Pung Chiv Kek is the perfect choice, but is Hun Sen genuine?

By Khmerization
28th July, 2014

The surprise selection of Dr. Pung Chiv Kek as the ninth member of the National Election Committee (NEC) is a perfect choice and should be welcomed by all political stakeholders. Being president of the human rights group Licadho, who has been critical of Prime Minister Hun Sen's human rights abuses in the past, she is seen as being biased toward the opposition and is unlikely to be accepted by Mr. Hun Sen as the ninth and crucial member of the NEC. The fact that he accepted her nomination is a surprise and suspicious at the same time.

While one could accept that Mr. Hun Sen is genuine in seeing real reforms, especially the electoral body, one must be mindful that Mr. Hun Sen is a master of tactician and is notorious for reneging on his promises. Khmerization is concerned that Mr. Hun Sen could play tricks by trying to outsmart the CNRP, especially Mr. Sam Rainsy and Mr. Kem Sokha, by agreeing to nominate an individual deemed to be acceptable to the opposition, but he could play tricks and attempt to stifle her appointment by ordering all CPP parliamentarians to vote against the new composition of the NEC when the National Assembly convened to make a formal appointment, knowing that the inability of the formation of the new NEC could allow the old NEC, which was stacked up by the CPP, to continue organising future elections.

This agreement looks good on paper but it might not be carried through in whole when it comes to the implementation of it. Mr. Hun Sen can renege on it any time once the CNRP lawmakers-elect took up their seats in the National Assembly. He can just order the CPP to vote against the agreement or against the new composition of the NEC.

However, this political agreement is the best the CNRP could ever get from Mr. Hun Sen, as the CNRP has lost its bargaining power since the 4th January crackdown. Let's hope for the best for the CNRP and let's hope that both parties and all major political stakeholders put national interests before personal or party interests in order to avoid shedding more Khmer bloods and to work together for the progress and the betterment of Cambodia.

This is a new dawn of Cambodian politics!

I thin Dr. Pung chiv Kek is the right choice, but I worry that she might be bought by Hun sen because her cousin, Pung Kheav Se, the owner of Canadia Bank one of Cambodia's richest men, is doing business with Hun Sen. He co-owned Koh Pich with Hun sen.

I hope her conscience is clear and that she puts Cambodia's national interests before her own and do what is right, not following Hun Sen's order.

Dear All CNRP Supporters, Mr. Sam Rainsy, and Mr. Kem Sokha:

Pung Chiv Kek is very suspicious and has shown up at the UN and spoke on the behalf of Cambodian people to the UN Reps, but she has not done anything against the CPP members of Hun Sen speaking at the UN by lying the situation in Cambodia and not sharing the truths about the illegal evictions of Khmer/Cambodian farmers, illegal land grabbers, corruptions, and all sorts of the problems, and beyond for over 30 years now. She has manipulated and misled the UN Reps, westerners (white people, foreigners or worldwide tourists) about Cambodia and Cambodian people. She has seemed to play to be a very nice lady. Please need to do something to investigate and post the information about who is Pung Chiv Kek.

I don't trust Scam Rainsy. He will not get a dime from me when he leaves Cambodia on his anti Hun Sen tour to gather money.

Scam Rainsy knows this is the end of CNRP when he decided to break his promise to the supporters.

No money.

Khmenhwatt, Dr. Pung Chiv Kek got her medical degree from France in 1968. Her father, Pung Peng Cheng, was minister of education in the 1950s and 1960s. They escaped to France after the coup against Sihanouk in 1970. They only returned back to Cambodia in 1991.

installed by Hanoi , whom Sihanouk himself had never known that person’s back ground before, of how he become as the main dealer behind Hanoi’s impasse.

Sam Rainsy some how reminds me of Sihanouk, who failed to materialize the long term effect of fighting strategy, as he rushed to sign the peace agreement, which it was the time that the communist bloc USRR,who sponsored Hanoi to run Cambodia, from 1979-1989 was falling down and as the result on the actual battle fields each day in Cambodia, of the 200,000 Hanoi’s troops and its alliance 20,000 Khmer troops, supported by Hanoi were starving and weaken each day in both psychological/moral and physical energy to defend themselves.

I witnessed in the battle field myself of how easy to take over the military bases that occupied by CPP’s soldiers, by just surrounded their camps and persuaded them with a loud-speaker before the battle started with some logic sentences. The young Khmer-CPP troops were all leaving their bases without a fight to joint the KPNLF troops, without a single shoot and each day hundred of them had came to joint the KPNLF.
Part 1
Had Sihanouk and his alliances Son San were true warriors and were able to hold on the battle for the following 5-6 months, Cambodia would have been free from Hanoi’s mechanism. Sihanouk’s deal had legalised the Hanoi’s designed-regime, which we all have to live with it until today.

Another setback of history?

One should learn and observe nature very well about how some spices extinct from this planet and some spices are surviving successfully and plan their strategy to dominate and control on the others. There is nothing in our human history that is straight and merciful, on this savage paradise

One should knows that all civilizations were made of fear and blood-shed, and although, in the last century and this 21st century, human had stepped on the moon , is mapping the universe and discovering the DNA of GOD and truth, yet we human would rather close our eyes and would rather turn our back to someone else suffering. The strategy/politics of survival, in general, is our instinct, ingained in every blood cells, and sadly, it has been the rhythm of life, since the beginning of our existence.

If one knows the history of playing field of Cambodia very well, one should be clear about the complicated strategy of the three magicians: Ho Chi Minh, Le Duc To and Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap who planed to swallow our country to be One Indo China Federation or state. They had this Grand plan and they did not give up although they, had lost at lease a million of their troops in the battle fields since they begun their campaign in the 1930 with the Frech and with American until 1975.

In 1973 when Henry kissinger signed the peace agreement in Paris with Le Duc To, America was sedated by the gesture of the North Vietcong, believing that they would adhere to their words, but on the ground Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap move his troos and set the traps ready to kill American troops, which led to the final victory in 1975.

It is a serious mistake, a poor strategy and short-sighted decision that Sam Rainsy leads his party to the dead-end in order to resolved only the surface of the dead-lock crises of our motherland, by stopping peaceful demonstration with huge crowd of people and boycotting the paliament, which created a powerful blow on Hanoi and its puppets on both political and economic field to almost a stand still . The campaigning had re-lighted the soul of the Khmer nationalism ; national unity and patriotism ,the sense of our true history and the purpose for freedom and change for the survival of our motherland, which made the Hanoi and its puppets a nightmare. The sense of nationalism and the hunger to change that were demonstrated by almost a million people on the streets were one of the biggest kind of protests in the world to be recorded, despite our population is only 14 millions.

If one study the molecular-structure of any dictatorship one would realise that dictator’s regimes only tough from the outside, but nothing solid inside. It hard to crack in the first few battles, but would be easily falling down like the domino. On top of that Hun and his cronies had done enormous and serious crimes against our motherland, which are unacceptable by majority of our people, on the contrary its crimes would turn to be a big asset of the opposition party CNRP to easily pursuit for a total stand-off for a total victory.

With CNRP’s move here to consolidate with the CPP in parliament, It reminds me of how Sihanouk in 1991 rushed to sign,a peace agreement with Hun Sen,who was

Here, in the same fashion, hade the CNRP would carry on the demonstrations and not to joint the parliament, it would be enough messures to bring down the CPP’s regime as more and more people had came to joint the CNRP for a new and clean page of history and the world; the investors would have been putting more pressure to the CPP that had breached the peace agreement and the human right since its came to power ,in 1997,by coup d’etat.

The marriage of convenience have left a lot of big questions such as how much can CNRP save the country’s problems such as about border issue? About the injustice that we have seen :land grabbing; evictions ; corruptions that the CPP leaders have done and most of al the economy that is a bad state as every thing have been sold for 99 years, which created poverty and mass exodus to neighbouring country for jobs? .

Will Sam Rainsy dare to raise his finger and point to Hun Sen’s face, in the parliament, about his betrayal acts on land swapping and his corruption or will he be silent and lives with it?

As we all know that behind CNRP’s backs there is a big stick and CNRP mouths will be fed with sweet carrots.

Dr. Pung chiv Kek is the right choice, because she is 71 young and still virgin.

Am I wrong?
