SVAY RIENG (Cambodia Herald) – An official at Bavet City Hall has offered $1,000 to the family of a female factory worker shot by an unidentified gunman suspected of being Bavet Governor Chhouk Bundith, sources said Wednesday. [Read article in Khmer DAP News. Or more news at Radio Free Asia].

The woman, Buth Chenda, was shot in the chest during a protest by workers at the Manhattan Special Economic Zone last month and is now staying in Bavet, a casino town on the Vietnamese border, after being discharged from Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh on Monday. Two other women were also injured in the shooting.

“A village leader asked my family not to press charges against the gunman by offering $1,000 but we refused to take the money,” said Sam Sinath, the woman’s older brother.

"I am now very concerned about my sister's safety because they come around every day," he said.

A police source in Svay Rieng confirmed that Chhouk Bundith, who is still at large, has been staying with a deputy prime minister [Men Sam An] in Phnom Penh.

If Chhouk Bandit really hides in Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An, It's clearly shows that the CPP or Men Sam An doesn't care about weak people and the rule of Law.

It's shameful that the government has dragged this scam for 2 weeks, because the Bovet governor is a powerful man and Men Sam An is just a dishonest woman. Mr Pal Pat Men Sam An's husband and a former brutal soldier, now a CPP senator, present a bad image of Cambodia to foreigners.

This the thing that I hate about cambodia! People who commited crime throw money on victims face and shut them Up!! They walk away and laughing, commit another crime freely....raped, robbed, use their family power to threat other people like animals...!!! I left cambodia, because I had enough with lawless country...

All we can do is, make lots of complaints and issues to the U.N. If the people of Cambodia (not CPP nor CPP's families) would join together and form a petition to resign all CPP officials in Cambodia including Hun Sen(Hun Nol <--KR Name). China is aware of these tensions in S.E. Asia and so is the U.S.

Men Sam An should resign for hiding a criminal

Hiding a criminal is like committing a crime. If Chhouk Bandith was really hidden by Men Sam An in her house, the police should go and raid her house and arrest Chhouk Bandith. The court then should summons Men Sam An for hiding a criminal and Om Yintieng's anti-Corruption unit should investigate Men Sam An for bribery and for hiding a criminal. Put both of them in jail!

AH Chouk Bandit must be tried for crimminal and civil crime.

Mi Men Sam An, must also be tried for bribery and corruption and also hidding a shooter.

ACU Must be abolished, they are useless and have yet to take any action against the crimminals and police chiefs.

Ah Sar Kheng must also resign and be responsible for his department instead of hiding like a coward under AH Hun Sen's order.

Ah Hun Sen must also punish Mi Men Sam An, currently Deputy Prime Minister.

Overall CPP must be responsible, and start taking action, otherwise people will start taking laws and more people will die under AH Hun Sen's jungle law.

It aren't matter if Chhouk Bundith attenpted to buy his way out with money, but if his alleged crime is true, then WHY is he NOT in jail awaiting judgment?
If the authority are too afraid to enforce the law b/c of his connections, why the F#$K publicly declared that he is a suspect?

Everyone knows that Cambodia has a culture of impunity where the rich and the powerful are above the law, but publicly displaying this culture by the senior Cambodian authority is another level!
This is why Cambodia ranked so low (even lower than other countries that are as corrupt or even worse) in the corruption index, they're openly displaying their corruptions to the world.

All we need is a Democracy. It will cure all the illnesses of these kinds.

Democracy is about your right, your freedom, and most of all it will preserve our motherland and noble culture that is being wiped out by Hanoi.

A bunch of gangsters will destroy our country for good if we do nothing.

Angkor Wat is run by Hanoi's agent.
Criminals walk free and protected, what more do you have to be silent.
A nation without democracy is a nation in the big prison.

Human love justice,animals don't.

Freed yourself and your children from tribal state.
